Olcay Gulsen amazes at AIFW

Saturday night Olcay Gulsen, also known as OJ Gulsen, the owner of clothing brand Supertrash, gave an amazing show in Amsterdam during AIFW. Cost and effort were not spared to present the new collection of Supertrash. Not an ordinary catwalk but in a big round building that hosted more than 2.000 people, called Gashouder.  Big screens, music and a shining catwalk, all to make it look glamorous and amazing.
Guests waiting for more than an hour to get seated. For the VIP's there was a special arrangement. Girls holding their seats at the frontrow by wearing a white T-shirt with the VIP's name on it...Not to mention the Samsung Galaxy Ace they received.
Here a small impression of the show but it is worth it to see all the show on-line. At the final models were walking round and round, slowly disappearing. And when the fireworks started OJ appeared at the scenery. So maybe next time I should film it...

A journey through architecture by Tony Cohen

Last night Tony Cohen presented for the first time his collection fall/winter 2011 at the dutch catwalk. He has been already for five times at the New York Fashion Week, but now he showed his designs in his hometown.
His inspiration for this collection is a combination between classical 60's couture (Marc Bohan) and a journey through the architecture of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.  The shapes and lines of the pieces are evidently classical inspired but still have the organic feel of a flowing 'movement'. It is a contrast between structure and a 'throw on' attitude which makes up an ultra wearable 'technical' collection. The fabrics are mostly from Japanese High Tech Mills and the colors are dark with some highlights of copper and cold.

Tony Cohen is selling his clothes worldwide and good news for the greek readers, his collection is available in Athens.

'A glamorous peaceful warrior woman' by Addy van den Krommenacker

Friday evening during AIFW Addy van den Krommenacker presented his ready-to-wear 2011/2012 winter collection and showed a preview of his spring 2011 haute couture collection.

For his collection called 'A Glamorous Woman Peaceful Warrior' he has been inspired by strong women. Addy is known for his glamorous red-carpet appearance. This time he wanted his designs to be for a strong woman, keeping his own style. Women like Brigitte Bardot, Jane Fonda and Duffy were his inspiration. The result shows, according to the couturier a "stronger, headstrong woman, her femininity, sex appeal and elegance not losing sight. She is combative and chooses her womanhood and self-consciously to show the outside world". The main color of the catwalk was army green, is all degradations, but also gold, red and some black for details.

Colorful clothing was strikingly mixed animal and different facets were present to make a complete 'jungle madness' of it: beaks, feathers and even large horns.

Even Bas Kosters, the designer himself, showed up as singer...
