David Laport opens Amsterdam Fashion Week 2018

"Sculptural Flowers" is the inspiration for David Laport's collection. The dutch designer opened Amsterdam Fashion Week first new edition led by Dani Bles. A new edition in a new place.
In the city center of Amsterdam at Museumplein. Between the impressive museums of the capital of the Netherlands a runway is build.

Eight pianists on eight grand pianos created a wonderful ambiance while the models came up and walked around these pianos. Pleats, frays and feathers were the main ingredients of the dresses using bright colours like pink, orange, yellow and turquoise, varied with black and night blue.

My favourite dress was the one in night blue, with sophisticated frays. Elegant and wearable.

The most impressive look was worn by Adama Jobe, Miss Africa Netherlands of 2015-2016. Gracefully she walked the runway while the pink feathers danced around her.

Alongside the fairytale and eye-catching looks, David Laport presented some commercial looks like satin dresses and trousers. His recognisable stamp of plissés were all over the collection.
