Is Dyson's Airwrap worth its money?

Dyson is known for its vacuum cleaners and especially its design. Now Dyson launched an Airwrap, a hairdryer and styler, all in one. I was invited to the launch in Amsterdam and I was impressed!

This Airwrap from the well known British company, owned by Sir James Dyson, promises to do everything your hairdryer, straighteners, curlers and brushes do. All in one with the promise not to overheat your hair. With barrels to curl or wave hair, and brushes to smooth or volumise.
I was impressed how the Airwrap actually suck the hair around the barrel with an ingenious system developed by Dyson.

The Dyson Airwrap comes with a series of accessories for different uses: a 40mm and 30mm Airwrap barrels with clockwise and anti-clockwise barrels for symmetrical curl, a firm smoothing brush with fixed bristles to tame frizz and straighten, plus a dryer to remove excess water and prep damp hair for styling.

I tried the Airwrap, but I confess I am not very handy with this new gear. First I took a bit too much hair, so it didn't work well. Than I tried it with a smaller piece. As I know my hair needs a lot of hairspray and styling mousse to fix it and even with this new invention I will still need it as after only a few minutes the curl disappeared. So for me it isn't a gear I will buy immediately for my curls. I should have tried to straighten my hair and put more volume in it. To see how this works but because it was very busy at the presentation I didn't try it.

So not a real review but when you know your own hair and uses your hairdryer or curling iron already this one is really a try worth! I would love it as my hairdresser would have an Airwrap as she will not overheat my hair at least!

For me I will stick to my curlers for now...
