This morning at the ancient Olympic Stadion, Kallimarmaro, several schools were invited to learn about the first modern Olympic Games in Athens. These first games were on the 6th of April 1896.
Through art (acting, dancing and painting) we revived the history of this unforgettable event. It is still up to date especially for the Special Olympics, starting on the 25th of June in Athens.
Nefeli Maïstrali started the ceremonial of the Touch of the Olympic Flame.
And of course Spiros Louis couldn't be missed, gold medal winner of the marathon in 1896, was played by Kotsos Menelaos.
As addicted to fashion my eye went to the customes made by Alexandros Kompogiorgas, worn by the dancers. So have a look too.
