Club Brillant presents Italia Independent at AIFW

Yesterday Club Brillant closed the Amsterdam International Fashion Week starting with sending male models with hardly any light to the catwalk. So as photographer I was trying to get a shot but the only photo I got was the one at the end of this post.
Italia Independent, founded by Lapo Elkann, had choosen for this concept to present their first photo-luminescent glasses and helmets.
The aviator model is choosen for these glasses as reinterpretation of an iconic shape in Italian eyewear. It is characterized by steel arms and a nosepiece and earpiece painted with special pigments that store UV rays during sunlight and then release them in the dark...

The helmet with the white pearl luminescent that, after being charged with UV rays will turn fluorescent light blue in the dark...

Club Brillant is an association composed of sixty-five top Dutch opticians and supporting young dutch designers at the AIFW. But not only, also they worked together with Badgley Mischka and Margaret Maldonado and did a overview show of dutch designers dedicated to the too young deceased Percy Irausquin.

Now Club Brillant is cooperating with Italia Independent and supporting the young designer Dennis Diem to present his new line. The models are wearing the Unique Edition of Club Brillant in key colours of Diem's collection. See also my previous post on Dennis Diem.

Too dark for me to shoot but you can see the glasses lighting up...
