A spectacular party in Paris: Anna Dello Russo at H&M
Yesterday night, at the peak of Paris fashion week, an extravagant party launched the AdR at H&M collection with theatrical flair. Hosted by H&M together with fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, the Paradis Ball took place in Paris famed cabaret nightclub Paradis Latin.
Friends and fashionistas, including Olivier Theyskens, Rachel Zoe, Jefferson Hack, Poppy Delevingne, Peter Dundas and super models Karlie Kloss, Constance Jablonski, Liya Kebede and Isabeli Fontana gathered to celebrate.
Staying true to AdR’s belief that fashion is something that makes you dream, the eccentric party was the perfect backdrop to present the unabashedly glamorous, playful line of jewelry, shoes and accessories that Anna Dello Russo designed for H&M, which will be on sale from October 4, 2012, in 140 stores worldwide and online.
“We wanted to give the guests an unforgettable experience: an ever-evolving night that started on the red carpet and ended on the dancefloor. We created an amusing cabaret show that, while being pure Parisian entertainment, could also function as a metaphor of the carousel of fashion. There was a vogueing performance, too, and I had an army of mini AdR around me, wearing the collection, just for the sake of something unexpected. Excess for me means success”, says Anna Dello Russo.
“It is great to bring eccentricity to a wider public, and that’s what H&M is doing with this collaboration. It was truly a fun night”, says Caroline de Maigret.
“People love Anna: she is fearless, she loves the stage and she is a great communicator. Anna is totally pop: Andy Warhol would have loved her, I am sure”, says Giovanna Battaglia.
“The Paradis Ball was the perfect way to launch a collection that is all about fantasy and decoration. It was eye-catching, with an optimistic injection of energy that I found particularly inspiring. We hope that our customers are excited about the launch”, says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.

It's all about fabrics at Fashion Erotokritos
Last week I visited the shop of Nikos and Giorgios Kimionis in the center of Athens better known as Fashion Erotokritos.
At their shop a lot of greek and cypriot fashion designers buy fabrics but also if you know how to sew or know somebody who wants to do it for you, you can buy your own piece of fabric.
Every week Nikos and Giorgos bring new fabrics to their store, so everything you visit it you will find something new! From woven to single knitwear!
In a friendly environment you can have a look at the endless fabrics they import.
Here my photoreview of my visit.
And some fabrics for coming season...
Nikos was so busy I missed him for taking a photo of him, so you have to wait until next time!

A sensational fashion week day with Anna Dello Russo at H&M
Unabashedly glamorous, precious and playful the Anna Dello Russo collection for H&M is a celebration of fashion and fun. Glistening in gold and vibrant hues of turquoise and orange, this sensational range expresses ADR’s love for ornament, her taste for excess and amusement.
“Accessories are vital” says the legendary fashion icon “Not only they allow you to play with fashion however you like, marking your outfits with a personal touch. They are also an essential tool to give new life to what you already have in your wardrobe: wear a necklace, a bracelet and earrings, hold a clutch and top it all off with a hat, and everything becomes new. Accessories are like vitamins to fashion: you should use them liberally as such”.
“There is something feisty and over the top in this collection” adds Margareta van den Bosh, creative advisor H&M. “Our customers will find it incredibly exciting and extravagant, with a precious vintage feel. Mostly gold, it is truly spectacular: these pieces will give a new life to everyone’s wardrobe. The idea is to have luxury that you can play with, at an affordable price”.
The collection features jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags. However, its starting point is a suitcase: a turquoise trolley with gilt motifs.
“I wanted to recreate the excitement of the fashion weeks tour, when you enter a dreamy fashion bubble that is almost like a parallel reality. I tried to capture that sense of freedom, joy and excitement. Besides, when we travel we always want to bring our special pieces with us. “I like the idea of a trolley that can contain the whole collection and is complete with a crown-shaped tag: airports will be less grey and impersonal if you bring such a token of travel-ware with you. It’s like a dash of fairy tale magic, or Alice’s white rabbit as a door to a new dimension” says Anna.”
Outstanding jewelry is the main focus. Exuberantly Mediterranean in both ornate shapes and shiny colors, slightly surreal thanks to the snakes and crocodiles that coil around neck and wrists, it features gilded chains swarming with pendants, stone earrings with an antique feel, decorative wristbands with the preciousness of real jewels. The same ornamental opulence carries on in the classy clutches: Cucciolina, Anna’s fashionable dog, makes a cameo appearance in the closure of the turquoise one. For the needs of any aspiring front-row fashionista there is theatrical sunglasses, all gilt frames, chains and animal appliqué, and shoes sporting a trademark stiletto heel, from sandal to tight-high dominatrix boots. A show-stopping feather hat completes the offer.
This festive effort is an ode to fashion as a means to reinvent daily life. “My message is: use accessories like a personal touch, as an amusing way to revitalize your life and wardrobe: you will turn an ordinary day into a sensational fashion week day” says Anna.
The project also has more personal implications. “Accepting this challenge has allowed me to give my personal and deeply felt contribute to the rebirth of Japan, a country I am strongly bonded with” she concludes. “Thereafter, a part of my fee will be donated to the Japanese branch of Red Cross International”.

Marine Vacth in François Ozon’s new film, Jeune et Jolie
Actress and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté ambassadress, Marine Vacth, will be the leading actress of François Ozon’s new film, Jeune et Jolie.
Young up-and-coming star of the French cinema, Marine Vacth met critical success in 2011 for her role in Ma part du Gâteau by Cédric Klapisch. She is again on screen, now as the heroine of the famous French filmmaker François Ozon’s much anticipated fourteenth film.
In Jeune et Jolie, Marine Vacth will play opposite the immense actress Charlotte Rampling, as well as Géraldine Pailhas and Frédéric Pierrot (Best Supporting Actor nominee at the 2012 César Ceremony for his role in the film Polisse by Maïwenn). The shooting has started very confidentially in the South of France and we will have to wait until beginning of 2013 to discover on screen Yves Saint Laurent Beauté’s beautiful and talented Parisienne spokesperson.
Jeune et Jolie will complete François Ozon’s very rich and diverse filmography that brilliantly alternates comedy and thriller, sometimes playing at the borders of science fiction. His career is marked by numerous successes such as Sous le Sable (2001), 8 femmes (2002), Swimming Pool (2003) or more recently Potiche (2011), and the most famous actors have been caught in his lens, from Catherine Deneuve to Isabelle Huppert, Fanny Ardant to Gérard Depardieu.
Please note as well that Marine Vacth will hold, end of 2012, one of the leading roles in Alexandre Arcady’s new film, Ce que le Jour Doit a la Nuit.

Known and “The Unknown” by Peter Lindbergh
Galleria Carla Sozzani in Milan, Italy, presents an exhibition with the works by Peter Lindberg from today until the 4th of November 2012.
Peter Lindbergh is one of the most renowned fashion photographers. Assistant, for two years, to the Düsseldorf-based photographer, Hans Lux, in 1978 he goes to Paris and starts working for Italian Vogue, then the English, French, German, and American editions.
His style and his interpretation of fashion trends are unique for the time: no exotic locations, nor special props, but pure simplicity. He shoots the most popular models in ordinary spaces, with the natural attitude of any woman in usual moments.
Behind his work his philosophy: "When someone creates something: a painting, a poem, a photograph, the creativity comes from an idea, from a feeling, from emotion, or from a combination of ideas, feelings and emotions that are somehow ‘reborn’ from all our experiences and perspectives.
Creativity is the desire to express ourselves.. " His references - experiences and culture - are linked to German Expressionism, cinema and visual arts, and to the observation of the contemporary world with all its concerns and anxieties.
Galleria Carla Sozzani presents a retrospective of Peter Lindbergh in two series: Known - Images of Women, a selection of 40 iconic images shooted for several publications like Vogue, Interview, Allure, Harper's Bazaar, Marie-Claire. In these pictures, Lindbergh always gives an intimate portrait of the beautiful women he photographs, also when he works with fashion and cinema celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Milla Jovovich, Kristen McMenamy, Kate Moss, Charlotte Rampling, Catherine Deneuve. Images of Women describes the essence of his creative professional work in fashion.
"The Unknown" is a personal project and research which has been exposed for the first time in 2011 at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. A visual journey with no order or chronology, going through decades of images, inspired by his recent movie series "Invasion". A timeless story in a visual space that mixes the glamour of Hollywood, the German cinema by Fritz Lang and the science fiction. With this work, Peter Lindbergh presents a fragment of daily life, full of enigma, unpredictable events and risks. His intense images reveal the fears and concerns for dangers that people only suppose. The main character of the story is the photo-model Milla Jovovich who began working with Lindbergh at the age of thirteen.
The opening hours are:
Monday, 3.30 pm – 7.30 pm
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10.30 am – 11.00 pm
Sunday 10.30 am – 7.30 pm
Galleria Carla Sozzani, corso Como 10 – 20154 Milano, Italia
