Throughout the year many foreign guests in the hotel are introduced to Amsterdam’s fashion DNA.
Yesterday Amsterdam’s residents were also given the rare chance to experience how its creative talent decorates the city.
Suzanne Oxenaar, the hotel’s creative director, spoke about the unique project, after which the visitors were given a private tour by the AMFI students.
The aspiring fashion designers took charge of designing and decorating the rooms as catwalk models. '10 Days of Downtown‘ will last until 27 January.
Rob Zomer, director of FashionWeek Nederland: “It is great to see the interaction arising between consumers and the fashion world, triggered by ’10 Days of Downtown’.
On Saturday, a woman was positively surprised by the Roadshow in Utrecht and decided to come see the rooms of Hotel The Exchange. I heard she even booked a room at the hotel to be able to be visit our activity in the Concertgebouw on Day Six.”
That Amsterdam is a Fashion Capital the whole year through and that fashion and design are seamlessly linked, is proven by Hotel The Exchange on the Damrak.
