Lee Cooper SS2015 - a glimpse

For Spring Summer 2015, Lee Cooper continues the partnership with Makers and commitment to craft.
This season it’s all about East London. Shot in a studio in Shoreditch, the SS15 campaign blends studio imagery with East London Art. The campaign was inspired by some of Lee Cooper’s iconic advertising and legendary ties to the music industry; a segment of culture Lee Cooper has always been deeply rooted in.

The Canals of the East End, and the people who lived and worked there, were inspiration for this season’s collection. With a nod to its music heritage – SS15 features an upgrade of ‘straight’ campaign imagery with a mix of overlaid commissioned artwork, in true band-poster style.

Lee Cooper has kept the fun, rock n’ roll attitude from the 60s and 70s but has recut it for 21st century, by combining photography and collage.
Rather than simply shooting local Makers as the company has in past seasons, this season they have featured the art of one new Maker, Rosanna Webster. Her mix of collage and illustration coupled with her recent press coverage garnered the attention for this project.
Rosanna’s art is a perfect addition to overlay Lee Cooper's looks. Her collages combine East London Imagery, historic Lee Cooper adverts, and textures along with hand drawn elements.

The Lee Cooper SS15 Collection moves focus to the East End’s Canals and the industrial importance that the people working on the waterways played for the country. From weeks spent on the narrowboat, to evenings in the working men’s club and boxing club, the brand's nod to heritage and workwear remains a strong feature around the world. And, this season’s imagery shows a truly cohesive global collection of products from some of their key partners.
