Athens Photo Festival 2015

Today is the official opening of Athens Photo Festival in Museum Benaki, Building Peiraias at 8 p.m.













Athens Photo Festival is the leading international festival of photography in Southeastern Europe. Exploring issues relevant to our times, our programmes work internationally, nationally and locally, encompassing a variety of activities that aim at fostering a critical understanding of contemporary culture and society through photography and related media.

The 2015 theme, under the title “Reframe Memory”, explores the relationship between past and present, both experimental and mainstream, bringing together a wide range of international artistic positions.
Athens Photo Festival is curated by Manolis Moresopoulos, organised by the Hellenic Centre for Photography.

60 artists from 37 countries, important international guests and a wide range of activities and parallel events, placing Athens at the center of the international photography scene.
The main program of the Festival is articulated through modular and crosses more than 500 photographic works by contemporary artists, audiovisual material, photo editions and texts, enhancing both the artistic and the social/political dialogue.
