David Laport next to Helmut Newton

Yesterday evening at FOAM, the photography museum in Amsterdam, dutch designer David Laport presented his latest collection next to Helmut Newton's exhibition "A retrospective".

As part of the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam OFF SCHEDULE program David Laport composed a collection of his earlier work inspired by Helmut Newton's work.
It gave us a memorable evening seeing the collection of David Laport and the photos by the legendary fashion photographer Helmut Newton.

"Newton is quite a prestigious name to work with as a designer, so it's very exciting for me," said the 29-year-old designer to FashionWeek Nederland.

The models appeared completely in black or white, very feminine and elegant, a clear reference to Newton’s characteristic iconic photos. The coloured rooms of the museum were a great contrast with the pieces of art.
David Laport studied Newton's work well, nylon, fishnets and transparent fabrics were strongly represented in the designer's collection.

For this presentation David Laport worked with stylist Jordy Huinder.

My photo review is on Patricia Reports, here a glimpse of the evening!
