International design competition @ Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

For the third time the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands will be awarding the Rijksstudio Award and you can take part as the design competition is open now until the 15th of January 2017!

Be inspired by the Rijksmuseum’s collection and create your own personal masterpiece. Anyone can take part and all art forms are allowed, as long as the design is based on a piece from the Rijksmuseum collection and includes images from Rijksstudio.

So get started, download images from Rijksstudio and use them to create your own artwork. All art forms and interpretations are allowed, from design, decorative arts and applied arts to fashion design, photography and video.

The artwork will be judged by an international panel of experts.

  • Ingrid Chou, Associate Creative Director, The Museum of Modern Art
  • Taco Dibbits, General Director of the Rijksmuseum (Jury President)

  • Thomas Widdershoven, Creative Director at the Design Academy, Eindhoven


The first prize is 10,000 euro, the second 2,500 euro, and the third 1,500 euro. In addition, a people’s choice award of 1,000 euro is up for grabs. The finalists’ projects will be exhibited in one of the museum’s galleries for ten weeks following the reveal on 21 April 2017.

Jean-Paul Goude for KENZO x H&M

The iconic photographer and graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude has shot the campaign for KENZO x H&M, starring seven diverse celebrities and figureheads. Iman, Rosario Dawson, Chance The Rapper, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chloe Sevigny, Suboi and Xiuhtezcatl Martinez will appear in the new campaign. The campaign will debut October 17, before the collection arrives in over 250 selected H&M stores worldwide, as well as online, on November 3.

For now H&M presents these fashion animations based on the illustrations. And a behind the scenes with Jean-Paul Goude.
“Working with H&M and Carol and Humberto on the KENZO x H&M campaign is a real adventure. I love the attitude that they have brought to the collection, and their youth, energy, fun and style,” says Jean-Paul Goude.

A Different Vision on Fashion Photography by Peter Lindbergh @ Kunsthal Rotterdam

Yesterday at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam Peter Lindbergh opened his exhibition "A different vision on fashion photography". The exhibition is on display until the 12th of February 2017.

It is the first exhibition in the Netherlands devoted to the German photographer Peter Lindbergh, displaying more than 220 photographs, storyboards, videos and interviews.

Lindbergh’s pure black-and-white photographs have determined the course of fashion photography since the early 1980s.  For more than 40 years Peter Lindbergh creates pieces of art with his fashion photography.

The exhibition is divided into nine different sections: Supermodels, Couturiers, Zeitgeist, Dance, The Darkroom, The Unknown, Silver Screen, Icons and an exclusive Rotterdam gallery.

The ‘Rotterdam Gallery’, photographed for the October Issue of Dutch Vogue especially made for the exhibition, shows the results of Lindbergh’s shoot of Dutch top model Lara Stone and emerging talent Elisa Hupkes in the Port of Rotterdam.

After the World premiere at the Kunsthal Rotterdam, the exhibition Peter Lindbergh. A Different Vision on Fashion Photography will travel to prestigious museums around the world, dates and venues to be announced soon.
