Amsterdam Fashion Week kicks off with Future Generation

The 26th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam presented the Future Generation. Showing that there is a lot of upcoming talent in the Netherlands.

The Painting - Future Generation

Initiator Peter Leferink, art director and producer of the Future Generation offered us on the first day a source of inspiration, combining fashion, new techniques and a lot more. Leaving us with an optimistic feeling!

MARTAN by Diek Pothoven and Luuk Kuijf opened the Amsterdam Fashion Week, with a colourful and bold collection for men and women, inspired by the Bahá'í temple, the universal house of worship for all religions and spiritualities.

The collective "Das Leben am Haverkamp" presented the second show. Formed by four young fashion designers, Anouk van Klaveren, Christa van der Meer, Dewi Bekker and Gino Anthonisse.
Each with his or her own identity creating unique spectacles. I loved the black and white creations by Gino Anthonisse and the show of Christa van der Meer put a smile on my face.

The closing show "The Painting" was a white canvas filled with 9 promising designers. Ailene van Elmpt, John Offerhaus, Liesbeth Sterkenburg, Marlou Breuls, Merel van Glabbeek, Sunanda Koning TRINHBECX, Yoko Maja and Zyanya Keizer created their own Dutch Masterpiece. They had to work in white, a symbol of hope, faith and love according to the Future Generation. Offering us a great and diverse show. And the finale with the song "Imagine" was the icing of the cake!
