Rotterdam Photo Talks

Rotterdam Photo Talks is an evening about fact and fiction in photos. Talks, presentations and a lot of time for questions and answers as visual storytelling is "hot".

We are aware that photos show no absolute truth but is it true? The main theme of the event in dutch is "Waargebeurd" by translating it in english I came up with two results: "True?" or "What happened?". An interesting quest for photojournalism.
Guests are Lars Boering (World Press Photo) Bieke Depoorter (Magnum Photos) and Sterre Sprengers (De Correspondent). Photo Talks is an initiative of Rotterdam Photo Festival and Nederlands Fotomuseum.

Talented young photographers Lizette Schaap, Lars van den Brink and Hanne van der Woude present their work to photo-minded audience and image makers interested in current developments taking place in relation to imaging and photography. Vincent Cardinaal (Vers Beton) will summarize the evening while he questions the truth in today's image society.

Rotterdam Photo Talks "Waargebeurd" is moderated and curated by Frits Gierstberg, curator of Nederlands Fotomuseum, in collaboration with Nicole Robbers, photo editor NRC and guest curator of Photo Rotterdam.
