Mentis reopens!

Upon today's opening of the exhibition "The Mentis Donation: An initiative to preserve traditional techniques", Benaki Museum Shop presents the exhibition "Mentis reopens!" with works by 49 artists who use the products of the Mentis factory as their raw material to create contemporary aesthetic items.

For over a century, from 1867 to 2011, the products of the Mentis factory (silk threads, insignia, fringes, patches, braid and pompom) have decorated greek traditional clothing, theatrical costumes, ecclesiastical vestments and military uniforms, as well as the creations of large, well-known fashion houses both in Greece and abroad.

In the renovated factory at a 3-minute walk from the Benaki Museum Pireos street, at Polyfimou 6, this exhibtion will be open on weekdays from 10 to 5. (Free entrance)

Here a few photos of the opening of Mentis reopens!

Also threads, lace and other items of Mentis could be bought.

And the children could explore their own creativity!
