Thursday evening Karim Adduchi opened the 25th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam with his spring-summer 2017 collection inspired by the powerful Berber woman "SHE LIVES BEHIND THE COURTYARD DOOR".
The show starts with a bit confusion, a little boy from the audience, started running on the catwalk. Then we understood he was there to open the courtyard door!
A person appears with a huge headdress like a fringed lampshade, inspired by traditional Berber clothing.
Mara opened the show in a black suit, with a white top and a transparant plastic skirt. Karim Adduchi used in his collection mainly woolen fabrics and berber rugs.
The diversity and colour use was a feast for the eye, I loved the red coat!
The models walked on traditional slippers of leather and wood, making their pace strong and heroic. They all had a line in the middle of the face from ear to nostril: a warrior symbol, fighting for the fusion of tradition and progression.
