Monique Collignon Couture Light AW16 @ Amsterdam Fashion Week

Monique Collignon presented at the 24th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam her Light Couture collection for autumn / winter 2016: The Conscious Collection.

Monique Collignon showed an elegant and gracious collection filled with bold accents of faux leather and faux fur and super feminine.
The music was all by power women, such as the hits "I am every woman" and "Respect", the projections in the backdrop of the catwalk were colourful and with a message: From Trash 2 Treasure and Slow Fashion.

The fabrics in her collection were of beautiful boucle's, stretch satins, crepes, voiles and silk looks. For more than 70 percent of the collection the designer uses fabrics of Waste2Wear, a company that recycles plastic bottles to fabrics.

In the first part of the show we saw beautiful color combinations like purple with green, camel and blue. The faux leather gloves and felt hats in different colours completed the look of a stylish and powerful woman.

Seeing her Haute Couture collection in DeLaMar theater last Tuesday, we saw translations of this collection to her Couture Light collection, like this beautiful scarf!

In the second part of the show we saw stylish combinations of her suits and the ability to wear it separately or to combine it for different kind of occasions like a business deal or a cocktail party.

This conscious collection is timeless and thereby contributes to use it for more seasons and this is Monique's goal: Slow Fashion! Producing a garment that is not after one season 'out of fashion'.

Here a glimpse of the show

A lof of 'must-haves' for every woman! And my favourite little black dresses:
