Sunday evening during London Fashion Week Alexander McQueen showed its fall-winter 2016 collection.
Sarah Burton is inspired by a magical sprite beneath a starlit sky.. drifts between dream and reality obsessively gathering precious treasures on her way.
The collection is hyper-feminine, ethereal and gently cocooning juxtaposed with references to the men’s tailoring tradition that remains at the heart of the house of Alexander McQueen. A tender spirit finds light in the darkness. Evening dressing: tuxedo, boudoir and lingerie inspired.
In the collection Sarah used satin backed wools, silk jacquards, silk satins, chiffon, organza, lace, tulle, point d’esprit and nappa leather. The colour palette was pink, pearl, black, blue, red, silver and gold. And we see a lot of butterflies!
