Yesterday at the 17th Amsterdam Fashion Week Winde Rienstra showed her spring-summer 2013 collection 'Ithaca'.
Winde is inspired by the poem of Konstantinos Kavafis about Ithaca, a beautiful homage to Homer's Odyssey:

In her collection Winde tells her own journey of discovery, leading us through different cultures and showing her own identity. As a result of her extensive research into traditional and contemporary nomadic tribes, Winde used old handicraft techniques, she selected from different cultures
The collection consists mainly of sorbet colours in green, orange and blue. The silk fabrics are treated with handmade silkscreen prints or made of processed wood with embroidery.
This season the designer made her pumps of Lego bricks and knitted laces adding a new, extreme and fun way of creating.
